Cristiana's Story
Removed from her drug-addicted mother at birth, Cristiana spent her childhood moving between foster homes. In an effort to refrain from becoming homeless, she left high school during her junior year to get a job. During this time, she entered into an abusive relationship and soon found herself at a domestic violence shelter.
She was eventually led to The Night Ministry Shelter. There, she was able to work toward her GED and learn valuable job skills. She began working at Bright Endeavors after meeting the co-founder, Stephanie Wernet.
With her newfound professional skills and GED, she was able to get a job with JPMorgan Chase. She is currently taking college courses in criminal justice at Harold Washington.
